The Campaign Kicks Off

As your State Controller and the chief fiscal officer for the State of Idaho,  I’m committed to being fiscally responsible, making our government more transparent, and ensuring every cent of your tax dollars is accounted for in accordance with the law.

The responsibilities you’ve entrusted to me since 2012 include paying all of the State of Idaho’s bills on behalf of every state agency, processing payroll for nearly 26,000 state employees, and maintaining Idaho’s centralized financial management reporting and accounting systems – the core applications state agencies use to conduct the peoples’ business.  

To meet these statutory and constitutional duties, my office is divided into three operating divisions and one support division. Altogether, we employ just over a hundred individuals with about half of them working in our Computer Services division and the remaining split among the Accounting, Payroll, and Administration divisions.

It’s critical that your Controller is committed to following the precise letter of the law; has experience managing complex financial systems; demonstrates a steadfast commitment to customer service and government transparency; and has proven experience managing a professional accounting, payroll, and IT workforce.
